First United Methodist Nursery School (FUMNS), a CT licensed preschool, has been serving the Stamford area for over four decades. Our philosophy is to provide an age appropriate program for 3 and 4 year olds and their families based upon developmentally appropriate practice that nurtures the "whole child" socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and creatively with respect to each family's beliefs, customs and culture.  At First United Methodist Nursery School we provide a caring, consistent, play-based environment that promotes emotional security, school readiness and a love of learning.  Every child will have the opportunity to explore, question, investigate and manipulate objects and materials in his/her environment through child and teacher-directed experiences.  Our program recognizes that parent and teachers are partners in helping every child reach his/her optimum level of development.
